There are many fantastic places to visit in North East England but one outstanding place that can occupy more than a one-day visit is Beamish’s “Living Museum of the North”. Being open air, there are plenty of places to visit including a sweet shop from the 1900s and plenty of rides including a steam train and an electric tram. It is a fun day out for all as well as a great learning experience.

Meet us - Seeing the Past

We are John and Loretta - two teachers who have spent a lifetime visiting historical places in the UK and abroad on holidays, school trips and any time we’ve had spare.

Seeing the Past was created to bring to life the stories behind historic buildings and events.
